The London Transcendental Meditation™ centre serves the community by offering instruction in the TM technique, as well as providing useful information and continuing support for current practitioners.

What is TM?

Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural mental technique. TM provides a profound level of rest to both mind and body, leading to increased energy and well-being. It is easy to learn and easy to practice. Transcendental Meditation takes twenty minutes twice a day and involves no change in lifestyle or belief. This is one of the most remarkable things about Transcendental Meditation: it depends solely on a natural ability of the human mind. The mind will enjoy silence once it knows how to. It is easy and natural.

Meditation

As the mind settles down into silence, the body enjoys a profound level of rest, which is deeper even than deep sleep. The benefits are enormous. With less tiredness and greater energy, the quality of one’s life improves. Health improves. A sustained sense of well-being develops.

Consciousness

Transcendental Meditation has been called the technology of consciousness. TM is profoundly beneficial for those who practise it.  It is also good, not only for bringing more peace in London, but for the whole world consciousness. In modern times the knowledge of Transcendental Meditation has been spread by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Maharishi studied for many years under his teacher before founding in 1957 a worldwide organisation to spread the knowledge he had gained. Maharishi first came to London in 1960.
